What treatments can you receive at Moonbow Shinkyu?
Based on Japanese traditional medicine, we incorporate principles from Chinese medicine and other innovative techniques into our treatments.
We acupuncturists possess specialized skills and knowledge. They have extensively studied human anatomy, physiology, and the causes and treatments of diseases. We carefully listen to your symptoms and conduct the Four Examinations, manual inspections, blood pressure measurements, body temperature assessments, and more to select the appropriate treatment methods. Initially, we thoroughly examine your abdomen and primarily use Shinkyu tailored to each individual. However, they may also employ Tui na and painless neuro-muscular therapy to balance the body's condition.
The body contains various receptors. By stimulating these receptors through Shinkyu and other techniques, the brain receives neural impulses related to the body's position and transmits messages for the adjustment of coordinated movements (optimal performance). Providing optimal stimulation to each receptor helps relieve blockages in the flow of energy, such as stiffness and tension. Especially for stimulating superficial receptors, a softer level of stimulation is more effective. Additionally, depending on the symptoms, accessing deep receptors may be necessary. Both approaches can enhance the therapeutic effect with gentle stimulation. By stimulating the body's receptors, the brain receives neural impulses related to the body's position and transmits messages for the adjustment of coordinated movements (optimal performance).
Moreover, based on specialized knowledge and techniques from Oriental medicine, we offer advice on daily health management. By practicing self-care in your daily life, you can improve your well-being. We can also provide information on how to perform home care using ear acupressure points, tailored to address your specific concerns.
Customized Treatment
Shinkyu acupuncture, by inserting needles to balance the flow of Qi within the body, can improve various symptoms and prevent potential illnesses. It is particularly effective in relieving pain and stiffness. For example, there are numerous successful cases of treating gynecological issues, shoulder, back, and joint pain. Moxibustion, using the warming effect of herbal heat, is highly effective in addressing conditions that may lead to illnesses such as insomnia, sensitivity to cold, menstrual pain, lethargy, and insect bites. Oriental medicine provides personalized, custom-made treatments tailored to each individual's needs. The acupuncture treatment methods vary depending on the symptoms.
Prior to the treatment, we ask you to fill out a pre-consultation form, providing necessary information about your condition. Subsequently, the acupuncturist will conduct a thorough consultation, attentively listening to your physical condition and symptoms, and record them in your medical chart. Especially during the first visit, we pay close attention to your personal narrative, including lifestyle habits, as we strive to gather comprehensive information. Rest assured that any information related to your treatment will be kept strictly confidential.
Based on the patient's condition, various Oriental medicine diagnostic methods and techniques are employed to understand the symptoms and body condition, and determine the treatment plan. The abdomen is particularly examined in detail, with careful observation and physical touch assessment of the skin. In some cases, treatment may involve reproducing the pain for diagnostic purposes.
The acupuncturist determines the appropriate acupuncture points, depth of insertion, placement and duration of moxibustion, and carries out the treatment accordingly. After the treatment, the acupuncturist evaluates your condition and, if necessary, determines the treatment plan for the next session. The duration and desired outcomes of the treatment can vary depending on whether the discomfort is acute or chronic. Therefore, a treatment plan is established, and the progress of your body's condition is continuously assessed before proceeding to the next treatment. Regardless of gender or age, we are capable of addressing a wide range of concerns.
Safety and Precautions in Acupuncture Treatment
Acupuncture is safe when performed by a qualified professional with proper knowledge and expertise, following correct techniques. This involves conducting a detailed health assessment of the patient prior to treatment and establishing an appropriate treatment plan. The treatment approach and frequency may vary depending on the specific symptoms. It is important to note that during acupuncture and moxibustion, there may be minor bleeding or residual marks from heat burns on the skin, which can vary depending on the condition being treated. Therefore, it is crucial to receive treatment from a knowledgeable and skilled acupuncturist in a hygienic environment.
